Solit iNovations has announced that it will be making the new Enterprise Reporting module available to local Lawson Software customers. The module is the result of the recent partnership between Lawson and Crystal Decisions.

Enterprise reporting as a discipline improves the access to and distribution of information across the business. Lawson Enterprise Reporting consolidates enterprise information into accurate, easy-to-read reports. It can generate reports based on information from Lawson and other software systems, and deliver detailed information on any area of the business. It does this through "Drill Around" capability, which allows access into report details.

This enables users to drill down to additional details in an individual Lawson model and across multiple modules. The new module is built on a strategic relationship forged with US-based Crystal Decisions, the world leader in enterprise reporting and analysis software.

"The combination of Crystal's flagship products, its Crystal Enterprise and Crystal Reports, provides the core report creation and distribution engines for Lawson Enterprise Reporting," says Gerhard Visser, GM at Solit iNovations, which distributes, sells and supports Lawson in Africa.

Crystal Decisions and Lawson's extensive work on tight integration has also made it easy for reports to be customised and formatted using standard Crystal Report features. In addition, users can now schedule automatic runs of recurring reports, archive reports for shared usage, and incorporate graphing and drilldown into report details.

Lawson Enterprise Reporting helps users create customised reports and inexpensively deliver them via their intranet or corporate network to others in their organisation. The reports are role-based, giving people the information they need to do their job.

"Reports that once took days to create will now take minutes," says Visser. "Lawson Enterprise Reporting simplifies information gathering and reporting, boosting confidence in reporting numbers, and allowing management to generate their own reports."
