Solit iNovations has launched, with immediate effect, the Lawson Portal, a role-based Web interface for providing single-point access to its extensive suite of enterprise applications.
Lawson Portal enhances collaboration, information access and productivity through an intuitive, flexible single point of access. It is available as a premium interface for all Lawson enterprise applications.
"The Lawson Portal is of great aid to existing and potential Lawson users by simplifying and enhancing collaboration, information access and productivity through an intuitive, flexible interface for all of Lawson's products," says Brenda du Plessis, marketing manager for Solit iNovations, which represents US-based Lawson in SA.
The Lawson Portal maximises a worker's productivity by centralising application and information access via a role-based work environment. Users can quickly configure their personal portal with the content and work activities most pertinent to their jobs. In addition, the Lawson Portal's proven Internet architecture and familiar, easy-to-navigate browser interface minimise training and encourage use.
"The Lawson Portal empowers employees to access and use the information they really need, rather than conform to the corporate system as it is," adds Du Plessis. "The result is that companies leverage the knowledge captured by their enterprise applications, and that's a real advantage in a competitive marketplace."
The Lawson Portal enables organisations to create relationships with and between employees. It builds collaborative processes through its one-stop, point-and-click work environment. It also provides the foundation for companies to create an online corporate community as all employees can use the Lawson Portal regardless of whether they are accessing Lawson's enterprise applications.
The Lawson Portal will now be positioned as the premium interface for all Lawson applications, offering the advantage of quick switching between applications, full integration and data transfer between the various applications.
"The concept of a portal as a single point of entry for all applications in a product suite will fast become the norm," says Du Plessis. "By introducing its own portal interface, Lawson will be guaranteeing its user base the best possible integration and application operating efficiencies."
