Progress Software SA, the local distributor of Sonic Software`s range of products, has launched SonicXQ 1.5, an enterprise service bus (ESB) said to be the only enterprise-class integration infrastructure for distributed business environments and computing models.
The product`s extensible, standards-based architecture enables organisations to accelerate deployment of flexible, cost-effective integration across the extended business.
"SonicXQ sets new standards for application integration," says Rick Parry, MD of Progress Software SA. "Sophisticated users have already determined that the only way to achieve agility and efficiency across their businesses is by separating the integration infrastructure from the application platform. SonicXQ 1.5 provides these users with improved performance and scalability, and extends flexible support for all major application platforms."
According to Gartner`s vice-president and research fellow, Roy Schulte, a new form of ESB infrastructure combining MOM (message-oriented middleware), Web services, transformation and routing intelligence will run in the majority of businesses by 2005. These high-function, low-cost ESBs are well suited to be the backbone for service-oriented architectures and the business nervous system.
SonicXQ combines unmatched performance and scalability with the service deployment, transformation, orchestration and administration capabilities that large-scale integration projects require. In this year`s Web Services Journal`s First Annual Readers` Choice Awards, SonicXQ beat out products from IBM and BEA, taking first place awards for Best Web Services Middleware and Best Web Services Foundation.
The new SonicXQ 1.5 boasts numerous improvements and features including:
* Usability - it enables integration of disparate applications faster and easier. These improvements result in lower development costs and faster time to market.
* New platforms - it increases architectural flexibility and expands integration possibilities with support for IBM AIX, HP HP-UX and Redhat Linux.
* Scalability - SonicXQ 1.5 improves performance and scalability to ensure the successful deployment of highly distributed architectures.
"Integration is a top priority for today`s CIOs seeking flexible, cost-effective means to connect business systems to support the real-time business, the standard for responsiveness and business agility," says Parry.
"SonicXQ delivers standards-based integration through Web services and J2EE Connector Architecture technologies."
