Johannesburg, 09 Nov 2004

The new Sony Micro Vault with fingerprint access allows you to store and access private data, simply at the touch of your fingertips.

"The digital storage device is bundled with application software that offers innovative features and benefits," says Gary Smith, Sony Business SA product manager: Smart Cards & Biometrics.

File and folder encryption/decryption

This feature allows users to encrypt and decrypt files and folders stored in the Micro Vault device or computer to which it is connected. A key appears on the icons of the files encrypted with this feature for easy recognition. Files dragged to an encrypted folder are automatically encrypted.

ID password auto login

This feature saves IDs and passwords in the Micro Vault, and allows automatic sign in when a user logon to a Web site.

Screen saver lock

When the screensaver activates, users can effectively lock their PC against unauthorised access.

Access to favourites

This feature saves your Web bookmarks to the Micro Vault device, allowing you to access them from whichever computer the Micro Vault device is connected to.
