Sony's PSP phone a reality?
Sony magazine claims a gaming-oriented PSP phone is in development, somewhat conflicting with reports from CES last year that saw the head of PR for Sony Ericsson claiming the mobile technology is not yet available to do justice to the brand, says Dial a Phone.
It would make perfect sense for Sony to develop such a device though, as the company has already shown its penchant for cross-branding with the Cyber-shot camera-oriented range and Walkman music family.
Though nothing has been confirmed yet, there are rumours circulating about an N95-style double-slider phone that reveals the PSP's control pad under one side, with a standard phone keypad at the other.
Bluetooth increases in Iran
SMS texting is currently the largest independent network for exchanging information in Iran, but Bluetooth wireless technology is the one to watch out for, says Middle East Online.
In Iran, the main purpose of having a mobile phone, which is to make calls, has long ago given way to its secondary functions, such as sending picture and sound files.
However, cellphone messaging is now being challenged by a newer technology - Bluetooth, the wireless system which allows individuals to exchange music, pictures and video between computers and also phones.
Proxim connects rural Scotland
CXS, a Proxim Wireless integrator, has deployed a wireless system using Proxim's equipment in the county of Renfrewshire in Scotland, says CNNMoney.com.
The wireless system enables users of the service to benefit from online learning and general e-commerce facilities such as online banking.
Renfrewshire Council was looking for a sustainable solution to provide citizens with residential high-speed broadband. The programme, the Digital Inclusion Project, was designed to cover an area of around five square kilometres.
