STT Trainer, Kaplan IT Learning's simulation and documentation software for enterprise training, received the prestigious gold medal in learning technology at the 2006 Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Awards.
These awards recognise the best in innovative corporate learning, and were presented at the Training Solutions Conference and Expo 2006 in Denver, USA.
The Excellence in Learning Awards programme recognises the best in innovative workplace learning by Brandon Hall Research, a leading US training and development research and consulting firm.
STT Trainer was honoured for its custom software simulations and documentation to train and support end-users of enterprise applications such as SAP, Oracle and Microsoft Office.
"The winning entries this year show great design and wonderful creativity," said Brandon Hall, PhD, chairman of the awards programme. "These winners really set the standard for innovative learning."
Entries were submitted in the categories of custom content, learning technology, learning case studies and live online learning. A total of 252 entries, representing 16 countries, were submitted. The entries were evaluated by independent judges from 44 countries around the world.

In addition to this current award, STT Trainer was also voted "Most Innovative" simulation authoring tool by attendees of Brandon Hall and Training Magazine's 2005 Software Simulation Shootout. Developed in Cape Town, South Africa in 1998, STT Trainer was acquired by US-based lifelong learning company, Kaplan, Inc in July 2005. STT Trainer clients include Internet Solutions, Johannesburg Stock Exchange, Kumba Resources, Nedbank, SARS, Standard Bank, University of Cape Town, and Woolworths.
