Sowing the seeds for agricultural financial service efficiency

Johannesburg, 14 Jul 2004

K'e Concepts is breaking new ground. By finalising the details of the CreditEase implementation at Afgri`s Capital Division, K'e intend giving the agricultural financial services sector a make - over.

With its forms-based data capture and application processing tool (CreditEase Application Originator or AppEase), integrated with Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 and BizTalk Server 2004, CreditEase solves many business processing problems within the application processing environment. Problems may include complex application processes which require both built- in validation and automated/human intervention. These might include new customer`s credit applications, financial loan applications and hire purchase applications.

K'e feels it will afford Afgri a competitive edge due to the systems adaptation of this new technology. The technology works asynchronously in both online and offline environments; meaning that whether online or in the field, one can process an application in a timely fashion while any external validation required is carried out at its own pace without holding up the process.

"We required a complex loan management solution that could deal with multiple products, yet was simple to use and affordable. CreditEase offered us rich loan management functionality that competed aggressively in terms of price and functionally with several international banking solutions," commented Richard Potash, CEO, and Afgri Capital. "The Team at K'e Concepts demonstrated an acute understanding of our business requirements and were able to practically demonstrate the value CreditEase could deliver to us. They have immersed themselves in our business and are configuring their solution to support our specific business objectives."

What`s particularly interesting about the new software is its ability to achieve flexible data enrichment throughout the business process. This is achieved through data input forms that are customisable, yet are presented in a format that most users are already familiar with e.g. Microsoft Office. The adoption of this new technology is therefore less painful and requires less training.

The originality of the product was rewarded in the nomination K'e Concepts received for Microsoft Independent Software Vendor of the Year in 2003. This was based on the success K'e has achieved with both the AppEase product and CreditEase suite of products.

Afgri is a leading South African agricultural services business and will benefit substantially from this software acquisition. Ke Concepts` CreditEase Solution Framework will be used in the Afgri Capital Pillar providing credit services to Afgri`s entire customer base.

Afgri is the first enterprise customer in the agricultural sector to use K'e Concepts` breakthrough product, giving them leading application processing speed and the adaptability of a smaller, more flexible organisation.
