Spec Systems introduces real-time guard monitoring system offering

Johannesburg, 27 Sep 2010

Spec Systems is excited to announce a new offering in the company's security product category.

Sefeko (roughly translated as "gatekeeper") is a wireless real-time guard monitoring system.

Guards are equipped with handheld units that are used to scan RFID tags during their guard route. The captured information is sent in real-time to the Sefeko server via the GSM network.

Says Nicolas Korff, National Technical and Sales Manager: "As our motto is 'track, locate, identify', what better product to take on board than a solution that will not just monitor guarding activity, but also offer security to the site, as it will ensure that routes are patrolled at the desired intervals.”

Real-time guard route information is processed by the Sefeko server to alert managers (via SMS or e-mail) about any problems detected.

The system also sends daily, weekly or monthly guard activity reports via e-mail. Managers/owners will also be able to use the Web-interface to monitor guard activity any time, anywhere.
