SpeechStorm unveils IVR apps

SpeechStorm, a provider of phone self-service solutions for contact centres, has today extended its IVVO phone self-service suite with the launch of a new range of visual IVR applications, says Sourcewire.

The IVR applications change the way consumers interact with service providers, and open new revenue streams and customer service enhancement channels for businesses.

Through a simple video call on a 3G mobile phone, callers gain a visual representation of business transactions such as transferring money, checking in for a flight, booking cinema tickets or checking the football scores.

Airtel offers self-service account manager

Bharti Airtel has unveiled its Airtel Self Care online account management services for broadband and subscribers, reports IT Examiner.

The company claims it will give users quick access to their accounts, allowing them to make bill payments and access other services.

Shamik Das, CEO - South, Airtel Telemedia Services for Bharti Airtel, said: "The Airtel Self Care service is a simple, easy-to-use and convenient online account management facility, (which) guarantees saving valuable time and efforts for our customers. We look forward to a majority of our customers registering for this hugely beneficial online service and managing their accounts with ease."

Voxeo acquires VoiceObjects

Voxeo, an Orlando, Florida-based company that leverages IVR and to lower enterprises' costs and boost services, has acquired VoiceObjects, a provider of self-service application development and analytics solutions, states TMCnet.

Jonathan Taylor, president and CEO of Voxeo, said the company acquired VoiceObjects because it helps enterprises and large carriers create and deploy applications for the phone, especially larger, more complex applications.

The multimillion-dollar acquisition of VoiceObjects has been in the works for about one year, Taylor said.
