Spescom Software Inc, the US operation of JSE listed Spescom Limited, has released its second quarter financial results for the period ending 31 March 2006.
Revenue for this period totalled $2.06 million. This represents an increase of 23% when compared to the $1.67 million for the same period last year. Returns are also up by 12% on the first quarter 2006, which were previously reported at $1.83 million.
Net loss at $102 000 has dropped when compared with the $508 000 for the same quarter last year.
Spescom Software CEO, Keith Stentiford, says the company's turnaround has continued to be apparent in the second quarter with an increase in revenue over both the first quarter 2006 and the prior year quarter.
"We reduced our operating loss to virtually breakeven. The continued improvement in licence sales, with an increase in revenue over the comparable period in 2005, is very encouraging. It also demonstrates a growing acceptance of our software products in the marketplace.
"We have sustained our success in the utilities marketplace during the second quarter with contract awards from JEA in Florida and Ameren in Missouri.
"Also this period reflects the progress being made with regards to our focus on indirect channels to market. This is evidenced by the conclusion of a partner agreement with DocQnet International which has installed solutions at South African Airways and SA's Gauteng Provincial Department of Transport," concludes Stentiford.
