Spescom wins $320 000 for eB Nuclear site licence from Florida Power & Light

Johannesburg, 16 Jan 2006

Spescom Software Inc, the US operation of JSE-listed Spescom, has announced that Florida Power & Light (FPL) selected eB Nuclear for the Seabrook Nuclear Power Station.

eB Nuclear will assist FPL to manage the operations of Seabrook's physical plant, and meet demanding safety and design requirements.

FPL is one of the nation's largest electricity providers. It operates the Seabrook Station in New Hampshire - the plant has the capacity to provide electricity to some 900 000 homes.

FPL will rely upon the number of unique features and benefits that has made Spescom Software's eB suite the industry benchmark, particularly the high level of security and data integrity that is uniquely provided by the product.

This contract represents an expansion of FPL's commitment to eB at Seabrook, which began more than three years ago with the adoption of the document management segment of eB. Seabrook is the first of three nuclear plants operated by FPL to implement eB Nuclear, and particularly the expanded suite that includes asset management.

Seabrook is regarded as the most highly rated of the three FPL nuclear facilities.
