Spescom Software Inc, the US operation of JSE-listed Spescom Limited, has won a contract, valued in excess of $1 million, with a leading US power utility.
The deal is for an enterprise licence for Spescom Software's eB nuclear proprietary software suite, which provides an integrated platform for information management. Spescom estimates that approximately 15% of US nuclear power plants have adopted eB Nuclear since its launch in 2002.
"The utility selected eB Nuclear after an intensive competitive evaluation process because of its extensive document and records management capabilities as well as configuration management functionality," said Carl Mostert, Spescom Software's CEO.

It facilitates business process fusion by enabling multiple applications and processes to be addressed in a single integrated environment resulting in improved information access and integrity, reduced operational and IT costs and enhanced safety and regulatory compliance.
Based on eB, Spescom's powerful integrated document, configuration and records management platform, eB Nuclear enables operators to not only manage all types of documents, eg procedures, drawings, vendor manuals, records, etc, but also the systems, structures and components that these documents relate to. This results in a greatly enhanced ability to manage change as the impact of any change on both documents and/or equipment can be accurately determined prior to making the change and all approved changes can be effectively communicated to all parties and implemented.
