Nintendo's Wii Sport Resort, a new bundle of games in a single offering, will be available to South Africans on 24 July.

Wii Sport Resort mimics a tropical island setting, offering players a selection of 12 “super-realistic” sports games, according to Matthew Grose, GM for Nintendo products at Core Group SA.

Although the Wii Sport Resort games can be played with the regular Wii Remote, Grose says playing it with the company's latest controller accessory, the Wii MotionPlus, bundled with the offering, provides a much richer gaming experience.

“The Wii MotionPlus simply plugs into your Wii Remote and will give you 360-degree motion and movement to enjoy the games even more, and it gives them a much more realistic feel,” says Grose.

The 12 sports in Wii Sport Resort include: power cruising, wakeboarding, canoeing, air sports action, table tennis, basketball, archery, swordplay, cycling, Frisbee action, golf and bowling.

Grose says Wii Sports Resort aligns perfectly with Nintendo's 'Blue Ocean' of making “gaming for everyone”.

“The Wii Sport Resort bundled with the Wii MotionPlus will for R699 and the Wii MotionPlus will cost R349 if bought separately,” Grose says.
