Price, speed and top-quality colour remain key factors in the expectations of customers and Xerox distributor Square One Solutions Group believes the new Tektronix Phaser 860 colour printer gives the market what it has been calling for.
"Beautiful colour is an attention grabber," says Steve Berryman, CEO sales and marketing at JSE-listed Square One. "In today's highly competitive business environment, high quality, realistic colour printing is a differentiator, but it has to be backed up with speed, price, simplicity and reliability.
"No doubt about it, colour captures attention for everyday business documents, proposals and presentations. Speed and quality are critical factors and the Phaser 860 achieves both with up to 16 pages-per-minute and a first page out time of just 10 seconds."
The latest developments in ink technology have been applied in the form of ColorStix II solid ink that provides brilliant colour print quality while also catering for automatic copier feed-through. The concentrated formula of the solid ink maximises page yields.
Network-ready, the Phaser 860 features single pass printing, an automatic two-sided printing option, a high-speed 250MHz image processor, automatic installation and 10/100Base-TX Ethernet, USB and bi-directional parallel interfaces are standard.
The compact design of the machine is maximised with frontal access for media/ink loading and paper paths. Solid black ink sticks are supplied free. Intelligent features allow the printer activity and status of consumables to be managed online from within the network. A wide variety of papers in standard sizes up to A3 and weights ranging from 60gsm to 216gsm is catered for. Heavier paper stocks and envelopes can be printed via a manual feedslot.
