JSE-listed Square One Solutions Group has entered into a strategic partnership with multinational storage technology leader SANRAD and is now a value-added reseller for the SANRAD range in SA.
Square One head of sales and strategy, Craig Alexander, says the partnership raises the stakes in the storage market with Square One now positioned to offer fully integrated intelligent IP-based storage solutions across the SME, mid-tier and enterprise markets.
"Storage continues to be one of the highest growth sectors of the IT market worldwide. The market is growing exponentially with the main challenge being cost containment as storage capacity requirements head rapidly towards terabyte level."
Alexander adds that with the industry worldwide moving inexorably towards open standards and ultimately the promise of "utility or grid computing", there is a major drive to maximise existing storage investments and fully leverage future spend.
Square One's storage business solutions specialist, Luca Ambrosi, says the partnership with SANRAD brings a strategic ability to provide existing and prospective customers with the capability to expand or consolidate their current storage environments through a more cost-effective offering, while at the same time providing intelligent, fully functional storage management coupled to a high-speed switching fabric.
SANRAD develops integrated software and hardware products to provide simple and cost-effective IP SANs, FC SAN extension, business continuance, volume management, data migration and security solutions.
"Their intelligent storage products use next generation IP-based SAN architecture and include intelligent switches and storage management software," says Ambrosi.
"The products operate in the data-path of a storage network, independent of hosts, storage and existing network infrastructure, providing a reliable high-performance platform for SCSI and FC storage systems and fabrics along with a central management interface for IT professionals responsible for administering storage to diverse hosts across a LAN, MAN, or WAN."
