Standard Bank's Internet banking services will be down this weekend for what the bank calls "routine maintenance".
From Saturday, 9 February at 5:00pm until Sunday, 10 February at 5:00pm users will be unable to access the service.
The date was chosen by the bank as it is the time when there is generally the lowest Internet traffic volume on the site, says bank spokesman Ross Linstrom.
He did not, however, want to disclose how many online banking customers the bank has, saying only they will all be affected.
The bank has informed online banking users of the downtime via SMS.
The maintenance taking place is not technical in nature, but related to individual accounts, Linstrom says.
"We apologise for any inconvenience."
