Stanlib, one of SA`s largest asset managers, has gone live with HiPerformance, DST International`s performance measurement and attribution system, and HiReporting, the company`s high-end reporting system.
Stanlib is the merged entity stemming from SCMB Asset Management, Liberty Asset Management, Standard Bank Unit Trusts and Liberty Unit Trusts. Its funds under management exceed R135 billion. DST International (DSTi) is the global leader in business solutions for the investment management industry.
Earlier this year, the group signed an agreement that allowed it to amalgamate back- and front-office systems across the institution.
Marisa Bellini, director, DSTi South Africa, says: "Our relationship with Stanlib continues to grow. The group is committed to excellence and in providing the best service it can offer to its clients. We are now looking forward to the full implementation of HiCompliance in the final quarter of this year."
Stanlib COO Andr'e du Plessis notes: "Rather than going with several solutions, we have decided to go with a fully integrated solution. We wanted to ensure that by merging the systems of both groups, we would maintain all existing capabilities and gain a better, more cohesive system. We are pleased with DSTi`s team of professionals and the functionality we now enjoy with our systems."
Both SCMB and Liberty`s asset management divisions used HiPortfolio/2, DSTi`s back-office solution, for a decade. SCMB`s asset management division used HiInvest, DSTi`s front-office solution, for two years.
Stanlib, jointly owned by Standard Bank and Liberty, runs two wholly owned subsidiaries: Stanlib Asset Management - focused on managing institutional portfolios, and Stanlib Wealth Management - focused on retail distribution of product, product development, and client administration and service.
Today the combined solutions, HiInvest at the front-end and HiPortfolio/2 at the back-end, ensure that all instruments in the client portfolios are handled by the system in a uniform process.
With 16 offices and over 1 200 professionals to support its growing client base, DST International provides a comprehensive range of investment management and work management software solutions and related services to over 600 clients in 55 countries.
