StatSoft, Inc. announces the availability of STATISTICA 7, offering numerous unique features and added functionality across the entire STATISTICA product line. The latest version of STATISTICA includes significant enhancements, from improved interactive graphical analyses, extended import/export support, and new workbook features to expanded STATISTICA Visual Basic options, "By Group" Analysis, and new data analysis modules.
"The release of version 7 further augments the data analysis and visualization capabilities users of STATISTICA have enjoyed for years," said Win Noren, Manager of International Operations. "With the new options to the graphics event model for dynamic brushing and selection of objects, as well as seeing results in connected Spreadsheets, the applicability of STATISTICA has been significantly enhanced to perform highly interactive analyses."
Some of the significant new features in the STATISTICA 7 environment include:
* Working with projects - dynamic, interactive selecting and querying data directly from graphs
STATISTICA 7 enables users to instantly update all graphs when the underlying data set changes and construct alternate, dynamic views of their data with large numbers of dynamically linked STATISTICA graphs. The new graph brushing tools can be used to interact with the data by leveraging STATISTICA graphics as "visual subset selection and querying tools." Users can define their own metadata containing additional properties of individual variables for analyses and graphs, as well as define their own metadata containing additional properties of individual cases in a data set.
* Expanded spreadsheet formulas and case selection conditions
Spreadsheet options have been expanded to not only allow users to automatically display text of current case selection conditions in the title areas of all respective output spreadsheets and graphs, but also conveniently run text searching, matching, and replacement functions for case selection conditions and spreadsheet formulas using a significantly expanded syntax.
* The "by group" analysis
STATISTICA 7 features powerful, automatic "By Group" Analysis where complete analyses, whether Statistics or Graphs, are repeatedly executed for each combination of levels of a set of "By Group" variables. For example, selecting variables CITY and GENDER as "By Group" variables for a particular analysis will instruct STATISTICA to repeat this analysis for all subsets of cases that can be created by combinations of levels of CITY and GENDER (e.g.,Dallas/Men, Dallas/Women, Chicago/Men, Chicago/Women,...).
* Further expanded STATISTICA visual basic functionality
Users can now go even further using STATISTICA 7 as a comprehensive and efficient programming platform for developing highly interactive custom graphics applications. In addition, a wide variety of ActiveX controls can be embedded within STATISTICA graphs.
* More data import options
STATISTICA 7 provides easy migration from legacy systems by conveniently importing or exporting SAS (both binary and portable formats), and native (binary) JMP, Minitab, and SPSS files.
* More results output options
Users of STATISTICA 7 will enjoy the wide selection of new workbook features as well as the power of the new workbook multi-item display function.
* Export PDF format
All document types can be exported into (editable) PDF format in STATISTICA 7.
New data analysis modules (and products)
* STATISTICA NIPALS Algorithm (PCA/PLS) - an implementation of a number of techniques known as Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Partial Least Squares (PLS). In STATISTICA, PCA and PLS are implemented using the state of the art NIPALS algorithm (None Linear Iterative Partial Least Squares) a state-of-the-art procedure designed to extract systematic variations, relationships, and information in multivariate datasets. STATISTICA NIPALS simplifies the analysis at hand while effectively combating the curse of high dimensionality (typically present when the number of variables is large).
* Link Analysis - a new, stand-alone product for sequence analysis, advanced association rules analysis, mixed sequence and association rules analysis, post-analysis clustering of similar items, deployment of solutions, and querying of rules.
* Random Forests - a new, powerful module in STATISTICA Data Miner (as well as STATISTICA Text Miner and STATISTICA QC Miner) for building flexible models for classification and regression; particularly well-suited for extremely large numbers of predictor variables.
And many, many more new features and options...see the complete listing of new features in STATISTICA 7.
STATISTICA 7 is compatible with Windows 98/2000/XP. For additional product and pricing information, please visit www.statsoft.com, email info@statsoft.com, call (918) 749 1119, or fax (918) 749 2217.
