Social networks in South Africa have seen a dramatic growth spurt, with more and more consumers using their mobile phones to connect to their networks. The mobile phone is becoming an integral part not only in the traditional methods of communication such as voice calls and SMS, but is leading this charge towards being connected to the right people online. This is the view of Shane Solomon, Marketing Manager at Samsung Mobile SA.
“As more and more people use their mobile phones to access networking site, it makes absolute sense to provide a handset that simplifies connecting,” says Solomon.
Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, a leading mobile phone provider, has launched the Corby TXT to do just this. “The Samsung Corby TXT is designed to make it easier for you to keep track of your friends through the Favourite Buddy List, which consolidates all communication,” he says. “There is also a direct link to your social networking groups and the ability to send instant messages on popular IMs through multi IM.”
The qwerty keyboard allows for fast and easy messaging, with the one-letter-per-key layout minimising the number of times you have to press keys to get your message across. “Whether you're sending an SMS to a friend, making plans for the weekend on instant messenger, uploading to a social networking site, or sending an e-mail, the Samsung Corby TXT keeps you in touch with friends and family at all times,” says Solomon.
The Samsung Corby TXT has a colourful design, with oblique lines and is playful in both a visual and tactile sense. “This phone is the ideal stylish way of ensuring you are connected whenever and wherever you are,” Solomon concludes.
