Stella Vista, the JSE-listed technology company specialising in LED display signs, has increased its earnings for the year by 150%.
Operating profit for the year to August 2000 increased from R918 000 to R1.7 million on a turnover of R21 million, resulting in headline earnings per share of 1.69c, up from 0.55c.
Stella Vista directors warned investors it would not meet profit forecasts due to contract payment falling outside the reporting period.
During the year, Stella Vista installed LED (light emitting diode) systems at a number of shopping centres around the country as well as at national airports.
The group says its development of the new generation display panels is complete and will be launched before the end of the year.
Order books stood at R20.5 million at the end of August.
The US subsidiary based in Pasadena, California, is on track with company expectations and the group expects to benefit from the forthcoming dollar-based revenue.
The Stella Vista share closed up yesterday at 23c.
