Steve Jobs receives liver transplant
Apple CEO Steve Jobs underwent a liver transplant operation about two months ago and is expected to return to work by the end of June, says eWeek.
Jobs, a pancreatic cancer survivor seen as the driving force behind development of the iPod, iPhone and other category-defining products from Apple, went on medical leave in January for an undisclosed condition.
A spokesman for Apple said: "Steve continues to look forward to returning to Apple at the end of June and there is nothing further to say."
Personal compromised on Web site
Personal data, including the signatures of recipients, has been exposed to those tracking deliveries on the Parcelforce Web site, the BBC has discovered.
A failure in the system allowed people using the mail tracing service access to the name, postcode and signature of various addressees.
The breakdown put Parcelforce at risk of breaching data protection rules.
T-Mobile to unveil Google phone
Following introductions of the Palm Pre and new iPhone 3G S, T-Mobile has announced the July availability of MyTouch 3G, the second phone on Google's Android operating system, states USA Today.
It's the first of 18 new Google-powered phones coming worldwide by the end of the year, Google says, declining to provide specifics.
Tech and telecom analysts expect Sprint to have an Android phone by year's end.
EU requests independent Internet governance
The European Commission (EC) is calling for changes in the way the Internet is governed, reports Computing.co.uk.
On 30 September, the agreement expires between Web governance body the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and the US Department of Commerce.
As a result, the EU believes this is the right time for ICANN to shift to more "open, independent and accountable governance of the Internet".
