Stocks & Stocks cuts it support calls by half

Johannesburg, 29 Jun 1999

Construction and leisure group, Stocks & Stocks has cut internal IT support calls by more than half over the past four years.

According the Stocks & Stocks IT software manager Tracey Honiball, this can be attributed to the increased capability of users since the introduction of training by I-Fusion Training, part of JSE-listed I-Fusion Group.

Says Honiball: "We identified a serious need for training on all Microsoft-based products amongst our users. One of the main reasons the IT department received so many support calls was because users did not have a sufficient knowledge of the programmes".

"Productivity has also increased substantially - our users are actually enjoying operating the programmes now they have a better knowledge and more insight, especially for MS Outlook and email."

Irene Yiangou, director at I-Fusion Training, maintains the company is committed to providing `effective training`. "This means not only providing delegates with the knowledge and confidence to return to the office and become operational immediately, but to offer individual, personal attention.

I-Fusion Training was recently named as a Microsoft Certified Service Provider. "We now ensure our clients receive the highest level of training on current Microsoft products and technologies, as well as pursue standards beyond the expectations of the market. Partnering with Microsoft, I-Fusion Training is able to combine our quality services and expertise with Microsoft`s information resources," she adds.

The success of the training convinced Stocks & Stocks to extend the offer of Microsoft training to friends and family of employees.
