A recent study by IATA* shows that more than 55 percent of business executives travel regularly. To assist corporate travellers to communicate more efficiently overseas, Storm has launched its go global calling card which enables cost-effective call time from various locations around the world.
Via a simple toll free dial-up procedure, Storm's go global calling card allows the user to stay in touch from virtually any location in the world using a conventional phone line. A team of operators are able to attend to all calls and queries 24 hours, seven days a week. Calls are billed back to the office eliminating the need for cash or advanced credit with limited spend.
"With our international reach we are able to offer our clients the best service and call connections wherever they are in the world, keeping them in touch and saving them money as they travel," says Tim Wyatt-Gunning, managing director of Storm. "Go global allows the user to save substantially by avoiding high hotel surcharges and operator assistance fees. It's also an alternative for when a cellphone's battery dies or the user doesn't have roaming facilities."
Call details and costs can be tracked online at www.globecall.co.za/storm with a password provided by Storm. Through this monitoring process, users are able to minimise the chance of unexpectedly high bills while ensuring both the user's privacy and security. In addition, go global billing information is consolidated with Storm's existing e-billing service, with one statement delivered at month-end, increasing business efficiency.
With go global users are able to connect to a variety of value added services through an Interactive Voice Response which guides them through the process of making a call. These include conference call facilities as well as the ability to schedule voice messages to be delivered at pre-determined times in a recipient's home country - an important feature when travelling through different time zones.
"Storm's corporate calling card comes packaged with a credit card-sized quick-reference guide, providing simple start up instructions," concludes Wyatt-Gunning, "This innovative offering enhances our vision of providing value-added services to our existing customer base, bringing them convenient and cost-effective solutions."

Storm was incorporated as a South African limited company in December 1998. The business launched in Cape Town in June 1999. The company sees itself as challenging the major players in the telecoms market by providing products and services that help companies to communicate efficiently and cost-effectively.
Storm currently provides over 3 500 businesses with a range of high quality, cost-effective alternatives to existing providers of voice and data communications including storm international, storm cellular, storm access, storm fax and storm sms. Storm international lowers the cost of a business's international calls through its latest callback technology. Storm cellular and storm fax reduces the cost of calls to cellular phones and the sending of faxes. With the acquisition of ITI's ISP business in 2000, storm offers Internet connectivity which includes domain name registration, Web site design and server hosting services. Furthermore, the company is positioning itself to offer converged voice and data services on one network, once deregulation of the local telecommunications market takes place.
Storm will continue to differentiate itself in the industry by providing services which will include VOIP (once legalised) as well as value-added services such as its newly launched Customer Zone offering.
