Leading e-learning company Software Training Technology (STT) has announced the formation of a strategic partnership with the leading implementer of operations management solutions in the southern African Process industry, Altech Informatics.
The partnership aims to take full advantage of the skill sets and proven track records of both companies to provide a superior and sustainable training solution to corporates within the Sub-Sahara Africa region.
Altech Informatics is a wholly owned subsidiary of the multibillion-rand Johannesburg Securities Exchange-listed Altech group of companies (majority owned by Altron), and was previously known as Keops Altech until it acquired the SAP and contracting divisions of sister company Isis Information Systems.
STT`s authoring tool for the development of training and support material - such as software simulations, documentation and context-sensitive help - also provides companies with project management, content management and advanced reporting functionality for the effective management of in-house training programmes.
According to Lenard Hall, Regional Sales Manager, Africa and Australasia, STT SA, partnering with Altech Informatics made sense as the company has substantial experience in numerous, large and complex multimillion ERP and SAP implementations in the metals, minerals, mining, agriculture and public sectors. Altech Informatics also has established relationships with a number of successful South African companies such as SARS, Toyota, Lonmin and BHP Billiton Aluminium.
"Altech Informatics have accumulated high profile market credibility and have personnel, whose combined experience amounts to many years in the integration of business models, processes, and goals, with information and communications technology solutions from SAP AG," says Hall.
"We`re seeing the role and benefits of software simulation training being automatically included, very early on, in any major project and implementation - an emerging trend internationally that is certainly here to stay and should play an important and necessary part of any successful training initiative," he adds.
"STT is a key player in the training industry and our partnership will enable us to provide our clients with state-of-the-art, effective and efficient training that adds value instead of merely throwing in training as part of the offering," says Pieter Theron, MD of Altech Informatics.
Established in 1998, STT was among the first to introduce software simulation to the e-learning marketplace. STT`s product suite, which incorporates STT Trainer and STT Manager, encompasses authoring, content management, training and assessment, documentation, online help and learning management.
Today, more than 200 multinational companies from around the world use STT products to create, deliver and manage simulation training for over 275 000 users on their ERP, CRM, and Web and Windows-based applications.
