The South African Mint Company, manufacturers of South African and foreign currency and coins, recently selected Software Training Technology (STT), leading provider of authoring and management tools for simulation software training and support, to train SAP users during the implementation of a major SAP upgrade.
Systems manager at SA Mint, Rosemary Wiesner says when SA Mint implemented SAP version 4.6C, they saw the upgrade process as an opportunity to re-train all users on standard features as well as the new features.
"We were aware that our original training had been very labour intensive and tedious so this time we looked at different methods and tools for streamlining training and improving results."
After going through a careful selection process, SA Mint chose STT, global leaders in e-learning systems for enterprise systems, as for the development of their training and testing of their SAP users. "We wanted a tool that would allow us to develop more effective training content. STT Trainer`s ability to capture live controls from the SAP screens meant the lessons were very realistic," says Wiesner adding that the same lessons could also be used to test their users by simply having them go through the lesson in the test mode in order to evaluate their proficiency. "So we could save man-hours while improving the effectiveness of the training."
"The effectiveness of any software simulation exercise is dependent on, amongst other factors, how realistic the simulated environment is. Our superior, dynamic capturing process addresses this and ensures that the training environment is as "live" as it can possibly get, we`re seeing this in the numerous projects that we`re active in," says Lenard Hall, Regional Sales Manager: Africa & Australasia, STT SA.
Established in 1998, STT was among the first to introduce software simulation to the e-learning marketplace. STT`s product suite, which incorporates STT Trainer and STT Manager, encompasses Authoring, Content Management, Training and Assessment, Documentation, Online Help and Learning Management.
Today, more than 200 multinational companies from around the world use STT products to create, deliver and manage simulation training for over 275 000 users on their ERP, CRM, and Web and Windows based applications.
