STT (Software Training Technology), a leading provider of enterprise training software and services for the corporate and government markets, today announced the opening of its North American operations in Tampa, Florida.
STT launched its simulation-based software in 1998 and had been operating in North America through a local agency since 2002.
"We decided late last year to end the agency agreement we had with our local representatives and establish a direct presence in North America. A local presence will not only enable us to strengthen ties with our existing customers and partners, but to also take advantage of the overwhelming interest in the market in application simulations," says CEO of STT, Geoff Lander.
Gartner has called simulation the "killer application" for e-learning and has predicted that by 2006, 70% of all off-the-shelf and custom e-learning content will include some application of simulations.
E-learning industry veteran Wendy Passman has assumed the role of Vice-President, Sales and Operations for STT North America. Passman joins STT with over 20 years` experience in online software services, sales management, business development and general sales at leading software companies including Datatel, PeopleSoft and Blackboard, the leading provider of e-education infrastructure.
"We conducted an extensive recruitment process that included interviews with representatives from many e-learning vendors throughout North America before deciding on Wendy. Her impressive channel development experience and record at Blackboard, her industry knowledge, positive attitude and professionalism made the final decision quite simple," comments Lander.
"I`m very excited to be joining STT. STT Trainer`s enterprise-wide features and its capability for rapidly generating high-quality training material are unrivalled in the industry. And with the increased focus now in the market on e-learning training effectiveness, I know the opportunity for a product of this calibre is incredible," says Passman.
STT`s participation in its first North American exhibition - Training Spring 2005 - was met with great enthusiasm by attendees who voted STT`s flagship enterprise training software, STT Trainer, "Most Innovative". STT Trainer was also awarded the Silver Medal in the Software Simulation Shootout hosted by Training Magazine and Brandon-hall.com at Training Spring 2005.
"We have ambitious goals set for Wendy and her team, but I have no doubt in their ability to achieve them. The quality of simulations and documentation that STT Trainer is able to generate for any software application, plus simulation`s move over the past year from leading-edge to mainstream technology, mean the North American market potential is tremendous," concludes Lander.
