Information technology students from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) will showcase their IT projects during the annual IT Innovation Day Exhibition on 17 November.
Eighteen third year and the top 10 fourth year development projects will be exhibited from the technical applications and software development course.
The projects will include various diverse aspects of ICT, including Web services, RFID, networking and wireless devices.
"Projects from our school won the national Microsoft Firefly Competition both in 2003 and 2004, emphasising the quality of our student projects. I believe that this year will be no exception and some brilliant, innovative ideas will again be captured and presented by our students," says head of the IT department, Prof Rossouw Von Solms.
The event will be held at the NMMU, Summerstrand North Campus Conference Centre and starts at 10am.
The department invites members from industry, commerce and the public to attend.
