Sun Microsystems is investing $300 million in its iForce program, designed to provide customers with the relationships and expertise they need to get their businesses dot-commed quickly.
The iForce initiative brings together under one umbrella all of Sun's dot-com programs, products, services and solutions aimed at customers ranging from startups to large enterprises.
"In South Africa, and even the rest of the world, we are only at the start of the dot-com learning curve but this promises to take off at speed and rapidly revolutionise the way we do business," says Michael Law, regional sales manager, Sun Microsystems SA.
"The iForce initiative signifies our commitment to adapting Sun to meet the real needs of companies in the digital marketplace and provide the fuel to drive them forward even faster -- plus a set of real-world programs, products, a partner community and services necessary to do business while cruising in the fast lane," he says.
To show you how to dot--com your business, Sun is running an iForce executive tour in Europe, Middle East and Africa in May, presented by senior Sun executives. "It is important for businesses to realise the online era is here, it's real, and the way companies deal with it will impact their future success and even their viability," says Law.
"The aim of the tour is to enable our customers to move quickly and efficiently into the .com economy. The sessions will include issues to consider, pitfalls to avoid, and strategies for success on the road to the online business age," he says.
The iForce Executive Tour visits Johannesburg on 11 May 2000. For more information contact Christine Hardy at Sun Microsystems, on (011) 256 6300 or christine.hardy@rsa.sun.com
