Swartklip Products, a subsidiary of arms manufacturer Denel, has installed the locally developed ERP suite QMuzik, running on a Promaster 8000 midrange server from Computer Configurations. The Promaster is the second server Computer Configurations has supplied to Swartklip.
Swartklip is upgrading to meet increased orders and to achieve Year 2000 compliancy. At Swartklip production schedules must be adhered to rigidly and optimal production maintained.
"When you have to manufacture to deadline, you cannot afford any chinks in your operational armour," says IT manager Johan Geldenhuys.
Qmuzik is a fully integrated suite featuring production control, production scheduling, buying, distribution, marketing, configuration control and proliferation. It is also fully Y2K-compliant. Geldenhuys says training is in progress and the completion of the roll-out is planned for January.
