Swiss Army Knife packs 1TB storage

TechWeek Europe reports.

The Victorinox SSD and Victorinox Slim 3.0 were demonstrated at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), in Las Vegas. The Swiss Army Knife houses a USB 3.0 SSD with up to 1TB of storage capacity.

Trends reveals that the 1TB portable storage device in the Swiss Army Knife will set consumers back by $3 000.

The flash drive, which is capable of reading 22MB/s and 15MB/s writing, is removable from the knife body, making it easy to plug into a computer. It also features a 96 x 49 -stable monochrome display, which shows the user what is stored on the device, and how much capacity is left.

The Wall Street Journal states that the device is the world's smallest high-capacity SSD.

For a number of years, Victorinox has been selling high-priced USB memory sticks, which mimic its classic Swiss Army Knife design. The move was initially effectively forced on the business.

The company was hit hard by the clampdown against airborne terrorism. Its ubiquitous stands filled with ruby-red pocket knives disappeared from airport departure lounges almost overnight.
