Sybase SA has announced its appointment as a Business Objects authorised education partner (AEP) and the availability of certified training courses on BusinessObjects Enterprise Certified Professional programme (BECP), a professional certification programme that builds critical system administration skills to manage and scale the BusinessObjects Enterprise XI system.
The contract, which was negotiated with Business Objects' Education Division in France, enables Sybase SA's training division to offer training that enables organisations to maximise the value of their BusinessObjects enterprise investment with in-depth knowledge and proficiency.
This is according to Sybase SA training manager, Arnel Taute, who says that to certify, Sybase SA had to meet strict criteria, including having two certified Business Objects Enterprise Certified Professionals (BECPs). "Sybase SA embarked on this process to ensure the highest standard of training to its customers," she adds. "To be certified means that the training vendor can guarantee quality training to the student and make use of the best qualified instructors and newest course material."
BECP is a technical skills development and professional credentials preparation programme leading to certification. "Certification provides many benefits including better quality control and the status in the market that goes with certified courses," says Taute.
"In SA, certified courses with an official international exam linked to it, carry a lot of weight. Individuals who can prove their worth in terms of return on investment are in high demand, all over the world."
Studies show that differentiating your organisation in a crowded marketplace through professional credentials such as Accreditation or Certification provides many benefits. The Global IT Training and Certification Study shows that the top reasons for seeking certification include: increased credibility 32%, assess knowledge/ skills 30%, increased compensation 25%, increased productivity 24%, stay current with new technology 22%.
Business Objects is committed to providing its partners with industry-recognised certification and accreditation programmes that reflect the highest level of Business Objects product proficiency and expertise.
Business Objects Education Business Development Manager, Olivier Muller says: "The Business Objects AEP model is designed to maintain high customer satisfaction through supporting successful Business Objects applications implementations. We rely on our training partners to help meet this objective. We therefore place considerable investment in education branding, in course development, in building the value of certification, and in differentiating our centres and our partners' centres from uncertified training organisations.
Our selection process is therefore focused on establishing that any potential AEP has the capability, capacity and commitment to ensure their successful creation and growth of an education business that supports and serves our customers. In entering into an AEP agreement, Business Objects and Sybase are making this commitment."
He adds that as a Business Objects AEP, Sybase is one of the few authorised sources of Business Objects official training in South Africa. "They deliver high quality education services that help ensure customers are optimally trained and receive maximum returns from their Business Objects technology investment."
Sybase SA is only one of two companies presently certified in Gauteng to present the new BusinessObjects XI courses and certification track. Its offering includes: BusinessObjects XI end-user courses, ie BusinessObjects WebIntelligence XI and BusinessObjects Universe Design XI; BusinessObjects Enterprise Certified Professional track (BECP) which involves three courses and three VUE exams - BusinessObjects Enterprise XI: Administering Users and Content; BusinessObjects Enterprise XI: Administering Servers (Windows); and BusinessObjects Enterprise XI: Designing and Deploying a Solution (Windows)
"Delegates attain the confidence to configure their systems to protect their organisation's information, leverage user use of corporate information and scale operations for maximum impact while maximising their organisation's effectiveness and developing world-class expertise," Taute adds. "The only way to be totally confident of both data consistency and user compliance is to have full knowledge of the controls and configuration options available to you."
