Sybase unveils revolutionary “Technology for Business” at GITEX Technology Week 2008

Sybase SA, a leading provider of enterprise infrastructure and mobility software solutions, today announced the official launch of iTask, a revolutionary business-driven framework designed to provide an effective means to mobilise operations and extend business processes out to the field. Beyond simply a technology infrastructure, iTask includes a unique, best practice-based methodology to guide IT professionals in the assembly of mobile business applications based on role-specific business activities focused on the user, the user's environment and skill set.

iTask

The iTask Mobile Application Framework (iTask) consists of many pre-built, reusable components which are consistent throughout many field operations processes across multiple industries.

The iTask tooling environment allows easy mapping of these components to the flow of customer-specific business processes. Additional tasks can easily be added to the framework. The intuitive iTask application user interface is auto-generated, eliminating the need to spend hours on interface design and perfection. To make the implementation of mobile applications even faster, iTask comes with a number of application templates, already assembled for certain fieldworker roles. These include customisable applications for delivery, field services and sales force automation amongst others. All that's required to be up and running in a short space of time is some basic customisation; thereafter a business can have a fully-fledged mobile application working successfully. All iTask templates have been built on best practices, including the experiences and sound business principles of many different field operation environments over several years.
