
Symantec addresses ICT concerns
Global security solutions provider Symantec is set to unveil its vision to secure and manage sensitive information and identities on multiple platforms spanning IT infrastructure, reports Sify Finance.
“We are showcasing our latest technologies, ranging from effective management of large data centres and cloud computing to security and storage at our premium technology conference, Vision 2010,” says Symantec India spokesperson Mira Davda.
The worldwide event will examine the critical shift to information-centric computing from infrastructure-centric in enterprises, as convergence of ICT is driving the integration of multiple devices.
Green economy to spark growth
An Expert Group on Future Skills Needs report identifies the fast-growing green economy as a key area for Ireland's growth, states Silicon Republic.
Minister for lifelong learning, Sean Haughey says: “The implementation of the report's recommendations will help ensure that education and training provision is optimally aligned to the future skills needs of businesses in the sector and assist people in making informed decisions around potential employment opportunities.”
Renewable energy management, environmental consultancy services and green ICT applications and software were identified in the study as key areas that could spark business and employment growth potential.
