Symantec debuts content management suite

Symantec has released a broad suite of software aimed at managing content ranging from e-mail to instant messages, reports IDG.net.

The software suite, Information Foundation 2007, helps administrators set policies and security concerning information flowing across their networks.

Internet Foundation includes licences to use Symantec's Enterprise Vault, Mail Security 8300 series appliance software, IM Manager, and Web Security for Microsoft's Internet Security And Acceleration Server 2004 software, among others.

Adobe releases PDF for industry standardisation

Adobe Systems will provide the full portable document format (PDF) 1.7 specification to the Enterprise Content Management Association, for publication by the International Organisation for Standardisation, reports Ecoustics.com.

PDF has become a de facto global standard for more secure and dependable information exchange since Adobe published the complete PDF specification in 1993.

Both government and private industry have come to rely on PDF for electronic records that need to be securely and reliably shared, managed, and in some cases preserved for generations.

BPM software provides process and data view

G360 Case Manager combines BPM and optimisation tools, collaborative content and records management applications into a single solution that helps organisations meet business goals for core business processes.

Case Manager 10.0 incorporates BPM capabilities, including the ability to graphically model organisational data and deploy seamless human processes, with enterprise content management functionality on the management platform.
