Synap-c (pronounced synapse), a locally-developed product that will address an end-to-end methodology, architecture assessment and blueprint process, will be released by SiloFx Enterprise Architecture Solutions later this year.
"No other product conveys complex architectural principles in an easily understood business format. Synap-c will revolutionise the way business plans are modelled, implemented and managed into the future," says SiloFx founder and director Craig Martin.
Synap-c, says Martin, will allow business stakeholders to ensure traceability between and within business, information and technology, develop "what-if" planning scenarios, view the current and future state of the organisation across people, process and technology, and produce blueprints of the "perfect" architecture to match the business. In addition, it will assess the impact of AS-IS environments on future blueprints and apply metrics to these, and migrate to future architectures and blueprints through blueprint-based implementation plans.
"Synap-c allows stakeholders to see how business objectives align to corporate data and applications," says SiloFx director Vish Rajpal. "It also enables IT directors to justify and rationalise technology investment in terms of business drivers."
Synap-c is built on top of the proven .NET Framework from Microsoft, and runs on SQL Server 2000 and Windows Server 2003, with strong Office and Visio integration.
"Synap-c brings businesses one step closer to the reduction of corporate silos and the creation of a single, integrated view, manageable over the long term," says Martin. "Gone are the shelf-ware documents of the past. Synap-c offers a real-time view of your business, with assessments and impact-studies of changes in an ever-changing environment."
Future releases of Synap-c will include vertical market plug-in cartridges, the use of meta-models to capture and organise current documentation into an AS-IS model, as well as segmented architectures and frameworks such as CRM, SCM and ERP. The future releases will include the mapping and creation of well-known market solutions such as Zachman, TOGAF and C4ISR and allow our clients the flexibility to build and implement their own meta-models and frameworks.
