Sync introduced into curriculum at top KZN fashion design school

Johannesburg, 04 Jun 2013

KZN's leading design school, the Fashion Design faculty at Durban University of Technology (DUT), will be using Sync as part of its curriculum going forward. The faculty identified that there has been a gap in skills as learners were not getting realistic insight into how the apparel industry operates. After being introduced to Sync, SA's leading ERP and PLM software system for this industry, DUT recognised the value this system would add to its design students, allowing them to bridge the current gap in skills.

Starting at the beginning of the new term, learners will use Sync to do their style costing, purchasing and TechPacks.

DUT is excited to be able to equip its students with relevant industry knowledge and skills that will make them more marketable in the apparel industry in SA, as over 80 apparel businesses in the country are now operating on Sync. In addition to the university curriculum, iSyncSolutions will allow students to further improve their industry knowledge and skills in Sync by providing advanced training at its Durban offices.

The introduction of Sync into the curriculum at DUT Fashion Design faculty is an important milestone for the iSyncSolutions team, who values the opportunity to be able to empower young emerging designers with invaluable industry knowledge and skills. The plan will be to begin introducing Sync into all major fashion design schools in the country.
