Focused on increasing customer value through strategic partnerships, Geac Computer Corporation Limited, a provider of mission-critical software and systems solutions to organisations around the world, and Peregrine Systems, Inc, one of the world`s leading software companies, today announced a global alliance agreement. Peregrine is represented locally by MGX.
With the agreement, Geac Enterprise Solutions will resell Peregrine`s Employee Relationship Management (ERM) applications for e-procurement and employee self-service, as well as Business Relationship Management solutions for collaborative commerce.
Peregrine`s e-procurement solution transcends traditional procurement processes by allowing organisations to evaluate the overall cost of owning and managing an asset - described by industry analysts as the total cost of ownership - not simply its initial purchase price.
Additionally, Peregrine collaborative commerce solutions will allow Geac to help its customers extend the benefits of enterprise resource planning (ERP) with connections to supplier communities for direct and indirect e-procurement.
"Geac is focused on and committed to maximising the technological investments of its customers around the world. In response to this commitment, we have identified and are actively pursuing strategic alliances with leading best-of-breed process improvement applications developers," said Paul D Birch, chief operating officer and chief financial officer, Geac Computer Corporation, LTD. "Our strategic partnership with Peregrine is the first example of our strategy to create high-impact, synergistic alliances that directly enhance and build value for our customers` businesses."
Peregrine`s Get2ConnectSM global trading network will also now be available to Geac`s extensive customer base. Get2Connect already serves more than 44 000 buyers and suppliers worldwide, allowing all companies along the supply chain to electronically exchange transactions regardless of the data, software and connectivity standards they use. Peregrine`s ERM applications include an all-employee request and e-Procurement solution for capital assets and other indirect goods that reduces the cost to procure and manage an organisation`s infrastructure.
"The Peregrine-Geac relationship is a natural fit for both companies and will help customers to remove friction from their e-procurement and B2B processes," said Steve Gardner, Peregrine`s chairman and CEO. "The combination of our Get-Resources e-Procurement solution and our Get2Connect network will be tightly integrated with Geac`s proven business management software. This is an exciting market opportunity for Peregrine and Geac customers with substantial opportunity for realising ROI through improved operational efficiencies in the procurement process, better visibility and cost controls over procured goods, and the competitive advantage of building tighter, more productive relationships between buyers and suppliers."
Founded in 1981, Peregrine has matured into one of the largest software companies worldwide. Peregrine supports companies with solutions that remove friction points in managing infrastructure assets, empowering employees and enabling collaborative electronic commerce.
