Leading software developer Syspro has joined forces with Microsoft to ensure IMPACT Encore Version 5.0 contains full support for the Microsoft SQL Server 7 relational database management system (RDBMS).
Phil Duff, Managing Director of Syspro, says IMPACT Encore Version 5.0 will ship as standard with the RDBMS. "Integration with a world-class database is becoming increasingly important to our customers with larger sites," he says. "Although the current version of IMPACT Encore already contains a database, we have decided to offer our customers a broader choice."
Microsoft Application Development: Customer Unit Manager Gordon Frazer says the objective is to enable Syspro`s customer base to take advantage of the Microsoft platform, and vice versa.
"Syspro has a very large installed base, both locally and internationally, and is a significant player in the market," he says. As is the case with Version 4.0 and Version 3.2 of IMPACT Encore, Version 5.0 will be Y2K compliant. Syspro will continue to support Versions 4.0 and 3.2 well into the future, thereby offering its customers the freedom to choose to stay with their existing database structure or move to SQL Server 7 with the release of Version 5.0.
