Systems Integration (SI), a leader in data storage and back-up solutions in South Africa, is pleased to announce the immediate availability to the local market of the Procom NetFORCE 1500, a network attached appliance.
Jack Ward, managing director of Systems Integration, comments, "The launch of the Procom NetFORCE 1500 is set to redefine the local network attached storage (NAS) appliance market. The low cost and high performance standards automatically set the Procom NetFORCE 1500 apart from the other available NAS appliances."
The competitively-priced Procom NetFORCE 1500 has been specifically engineered to meet the demands set by mid-sized e-business and corporate companies that require a simple, easy-to-install, fast, scalable and dependable means of storage.
With the Procom NetFORCE 1500, SI has tapped into a mid-range market niche that has tremendous growth potential within the NAS market. The product offers up to 720 GB of cross-platform storage capacity, which will address the ever-increasing storage requirements of e-business and corporate workgroups.
Furthermore, the Procom NetFORCE 1500 is a multi-protocol server appliance that allows cross-platform file sharing and file locking which is dependent on a Network File System (NFS) or a Common Internet File System (CIFS). Procom has further enhanced the value of the NetFORCE 1500 by simplifying network administration.
The new Procom NetFORCE 1500 provides a simple method to provide storage capacity without interrupting user access to the main server. In addition, it enables multiple servers to share a common storage repository, eliminating the need to replicate data whilst doing so. In addition, the product significantly reduces a company's hardware and administrative costs, thereby dramatically lowering the total cost of ownership of storage assets.
Continues Ward: "According to a recent study conducted by the Gartner Group, 50% of a server's expenses are directly attributable to storage. The study further demonstrated that organisations that have used NAS appliances to further expand their network-accessible storage have reduced their storage costs by factors of 4:1 to 8:1."
