SSO is a powerful, large scale, high-end Storage Area Network (SAN) solution. It allows multiple distributed backup servers to share common, centralised backup storage devices. These devices are connected over a fibre channel SAN for greater efficiency and fault tolerance. The SSO balances activity across multiple servers, increases performance and backup speeds, centralises management tasks and lowers the total cost of ownership.
