Systems Publishers, publishers of 20 specialist IT publications and several online services, has installed Great Plains` e-Enterprise and FRX, a financial reporting solution. The contract was awarded to Accounting Innovations, a member of the Synergy Holdings Group and a national Great Plains value added reseller (VAR). The system went live at the beginning of July.
Andr'e van Dalen, business manager of Accounting Innovations says, "Systems Publishers needed an accounting package with cutting-edge technology and a high level of integration and flexibility. Great Plains e-Enterprise co-ordinates the back office with front office modules. Additional modules can be added at a later stage, if required. Systems Publishers are negotiating phase two, involving the implementation of the `net series` - Great Plains` web-based solutions. Phase two is expected to dramatically save on hardware and implementation costs, as well as on the reduction of user licences."
Niall Murphy, a director of Systems Publishers, says, "The key benefit of e-Enterprise is its ability to run each of our publications and business units as a separate cost centre. A lot of time is expected to be saved in the design and generation of financial reports, which can be generated at any stage during the month. This creates a more flexible way of management in the accounting system. There are several companies within our group, each with its own requirements, but the system must provide control over the entire group. Another key benefit is that e-Enterprise allows us to integrate workflow processes electronically, cutting the paper process and integrating accounting activities into other management processes."
Great Plains was recognised as a leading IT company by IT journalists in the recently published book, "The Best IT Companies in South Africa". In addition, the Gartner Group, a leading US IT research company, has identified Great Plains as a sole vendor in its "leader" quadrant for two years running.
Great Plains Africa was founded in 1997. Wholly-owned by American parent company, Great Plains GPSI, Great Plains Africa is a leading provider of client/server business management software solutions using the Windows NT- and Microsoft SQL Server platforms. Its products are sold, implemented and supported through its network of value added resellers, such as Accounting Innovations.
