TallyCom, official vendor of Tally products in SA, has announced the appointment of its third authorised service provider (ASP), GenevaPrintotek by Tally UK. As an ASP, GenevaPrintotek will be tasked with using its decade of expertise in the printer repair and support field as a provider of Tally`s warranty service and will also directly support customers` printers that are out of warranty.
David Terry, GM of TallyCom, says the decision to appoint a third service partner was made in order to continue its policy of smooth support services for all Tally users.
"Our customers expect to have access to premium support and they want the option of choosing which company provides this support to them," says Terry. "By offering a choice of ASP, we also ensure that parts are readily available and that the competitive element among our partners, will ensure a continually increasing level of support excellence for our customers."
GenevaPrintotek is not a stranger to TallyCom or its products. "After a long relationship with the people and products of Tally, and Mannesmann Tally before that, we know the high-quality product Tally delivers and therefore made the decision to be certified as an ASP for Tally," says Neil van Vuuren, technical director of GenevaPrintotek.
"Tally produces the best line printers in the business," Van Vuuren adds, "and GenevaPrintotek is one of the largest printer maintenance companies in SA, already completing about 140 jobs per day for the top printer brands in the country. A partnership between the two companies makes business sense to us, TallyCom and our joint customers."
"GenevaPrintotek boasts the best repair facilities in SA and there are few repair jobs we cannot manage, " says managing director, Terry Wallace. "We refurbish printer components such as print-heads, fuser units and PCBs, and do not merely replace them - driving down the cost of ownership for customers even further."
He adds that the company does not simply accept all printer brands, but only those brands that the company is sure it can get the necessary parts for in a reasonable time. "We recently turned down a contract with one of the leading consumer brands in SA due to the lack of available parts. We were not convinced we could deliver the level of service we as a company expect from ourselves and customers demand in a tough market."
Nick Allen, customer services manager, Tally UK, notes that driving down the cost of ownership for the Tally brand is of primary importance for Tally worldwide. "Our global reputation for quality and reliability must be matched with affordable, long-term service from partners as focused on quality of delivery as we are."
The appointment of GenevaPrintotek as the third ASP, along with Tech-nique Corporate Services and Printegration should not only ensure Tally customers obtain premier support and maintenance services, but will add another ASP to the South African market. Customers will therefore have a wider choice of suppliers and the added competition will ensure competitive pricing, again benefiting the customer and driving down the cost of ownership.
