Venture Computer, the sole distributor in South Africa for Tally Printer Corp., Europe`s No 1 line printer company and a leading designer and manufacturer of high performance printers for key industries, such as banking, telecommunications and Government, today announced a version of its popular Tally T2040 midrange printer with an integrated automatic cutting device, significantly increasing its appeal for users running point-of-purchase and distribution applications.

The new cutting device on the T2040S now means that individual pages or comprehensive reports can be split up as they are produced, saving time and doing away with the need to shuffle paper up and down for each tear-off," Fearon added.
The 24pin 80-column T2040 and 136-column T2140 print at speeds of up to 400 cps - equal to around 400 draft A4 letter pages per hour. A key feature is front feed, which means easy and reliable paper feeding, via one of the three push tractor feeds. Pull tractors have also been engineered out of the design, resulting in a small overall ergonomic footprint. Other features include a cut-sheet feeder, a very short paper path, automatic gap adjustment, auto paper loading and auto paper selection for both manual and cut forms, which all make setting up and using the printer a simple process.
A wide choice of industry standard emulations are available including Tally`s own MTPL, IBM ProPrinter, Epson FX/LQ and ANSI barcodes. Connectivity is via bi-directional parallel, Serial RS232 or the optional InLine Ethernet and Token Ring solutions.
