Venture Computer, the sole distributor for Tally in South Africa, to-day announced the release of a new series of Tally Dot Matrix Printers. This new printer range, the Tally T2030 series, consists of four models:- * T2030/9 - 80 column: 9 pin printer * T2030/24 - 80 column: 24 pin printer * T2130/9 - 136 column: 9 pin printer * T2130/24 - 136 column: 24 pin printer These printers offer considerable advantages over the MT15x series which they replace. For instance, they offer a Parallel Interface as standard; an optional internal Serial Interface, which when installed offers a true dual interface mode; Bar-code firmware as standard; front feed push tractors, with a straight paper path; faster CPS ratings and at least double the ribbon life compared to the MT15x series; identical Duty Cycle & Workload capabilities as the MT15x Series, i.e. 600 pages per day or 12000 pages per month; and identical control panel and set-up menus as the MT15x and the T2045/60 series. Richard Fearon, sales and marketing director at Venture Computer said, " these new printers consolidate the range we offer to the local market, and are the compatible bottom end products to the T2045 and T2060 Series of Tally matrix printers" These printers, which are available immediately, are offered at prices which are superior to the products they replace. Tally, the $300M+ turnover company, owned mainly by Legal and General Ventures, employs some 1300 people. They market only via distributors/dealers. It is the No. 1 branded line printer company world-wide.
