Tandberg aims telepresence at SMEs
Tandberg is continuing to grow its Profile video conferencing portfolio, rolling out an offering aimed at the SME space, says eWeek.
The newest addition to the Profile HD video conferencing line up is a 42-inch offering for the entry-level space, an area that Tandberg officials believe will grow in importance as the economy improves.
“They are going to be freeing up funds faster [than enterprises] as the recovery [takes hold],” says Peter Nutley, director of global marketing at Tandberg.
Omniture unveils Web 2.0 management tool
Web analytics firm Omniture has released a tool designed to ensure organisations get the most out of investments in new media and Web applications, states Computing.co.uk.
The firm's Social Media Optimisation Solution is designed to help enterprises that reach out to customers through sites like Facebook and MySpace. Omniture says the tool would let companies accurately measure the impact and effect of these communications, along with any Web 2.0 initiatives they might be running.
Information is presented via a dashboard that will let customers see how, when and where users are engaging with their content. Examples quoted by the firm include analysing a spike on Twitter concerning the company brand, or a rush of Facebook posts on the same subject.
Kyocera expands MFP range
Kyocera Mita America is expanding its TASKalfa multifunctional product (MFP) series with the unveiling of two black-and-white MFPs: the TASKalfa 520i (52 pages-per-minute) and TASKalfa 420i (42ppm), reports Reuters.
Combining the engineering with the needs of mid-volume workgroups and enterprises, the TASKalfa 520i/420i offers 600 dpi image quality with fast and efficient print, copy and scan functionality.
The TASKalfa 520i/420i is based on the company's MFP engine technology that utilises Kyocera's patented long-life Amorphous Silicon drum, delivering more business 'uptime' through a 500 000 page preventive maintenance schedule.
