Tarsus Technologies has entered into a distribution agreement with Symantec and will be offering a complete range of Norton security products to its reseller base, focusing predominantly on the small to medium-sized business and mid-market segments.
"Access to the Norton security products will allow our smaller resellers to increase the level of value they can offer to their end-user customers, through the provision of complete solutions that comprise tier one hardware, operating system, application, and now, security software," says Jamie Scott, director at Tarsus. "We believe the partnership with Symantec will be an extremely successful endeavour."
Norton security products also complement the other technology brands Tarsus currently has on offer to its resellers in South Africa.
Security, from document access to Internet communication and network-based activities, is no longer a nice-to-have, but a critical component of any solution that resellers offer to their customers. By adding Norton security products, resellers can provide a more complete security offering and gain a competitive edge.
The agreement covers the core security products that include Norton Internet Security, Norton 360 and Norton Mobile Security. This means end-users will have protection on all their devices in whatever they do online. With five patented layers of protection, stronger social networking defences, anti-scam capabilities, and improved cloud-enabled features, end-users are able to protect their computers and mobile devices from malicious cyber attacks, data loss and identity theft.
"In South Africa last year, it was reported that a total of 2.4 million adults were victims of cyber crime compared to the 556 million globally, according to the latest Norton Cybercrime Report [1]. As the adoption and evolution of new technologies impact people's security, more platforms become lucrative avenues for cyber criminals," said Kara Rawden, Senior Marketing Manager, Middle East and Africa, at Norton Symantec. "Norton recognises the need for consumers to use their PCs and mobile devices with the confidence that their information and systems are safe, and this partnership with Tarsus reinforces our commitment to the region."
