Tarsus Technologies is set to make individual, home and small business printing tasks easier, simpler and faster with the launch of two new, versatile Deskjet printers from HP.
At the entry-level, the HP Deskjet 3550 is a compact printer offering excellent value for money. Simple to set up, easy-to-use and capable of delivering brilliant photo quality results, it provides an economical solution to all printing requirements in the home.
"The Deskjet 3550 has been designed for first-time users that need a compact and affordable printer," says Andr'e Wollheim, HP product manager at Tarsus. "A USB connection links the printer to PCs and Macs, and HP`s simple start-up guide walks users through the setup process in a matter of minutes."
With the capability of producing up to 2400-optimised dpi colour for vibrant photo quality images, the Deskjet 3550 also includes HP Photoret III precision technology for smooth colour transitions and realistic flesh tones. Sporting a print speed of up to 14 pages per minute in black and 10 pages per minute in colour, users won`t be spending their time waiting for their printouts any more.
One step up the ladder is the HP Deskjet 3650, an easy-to-use printer offering a combination of value for money, exceptional print quality and delivering up to 4800-optimised dpi with optional 6-ink colour printing (available with the purchase of a photo cartridge).
Fast and reliable, this printer can produce up to 17 pages per minute in black and up to 12 pages per minute in colour, even printing borderless 10 x 15 cm photo prints. It also includes HP Photoret IV precision technology for virtually grain-free images and long-lasting, fade-resistant photos.
"The 3650 also sports a foldaway paper tray with a 100-sheet input and 50-sheet output capacity," adds Wollheim. "HP also helps users reduce their paper costs with a guided manual two-sided printing capability."
Both printers provide an on-screen ink-level indicator to let users know when it`s time to replace ink cartridges - before they notice lost lines or colours that have gone AWOL on their printouts.
The Deskjet 3550 is ideal for the home as it boasts an innovative space-saving design and its small footprint makes it suitable for shelves as well as desks. The 3650 is targeted at families, individuals and small businesses looking for an affordable, easy-to-use, yet productive printer.
Both models will be available from Tarsus Technologies as of August 2003.
