Tarsus Technologies reports 100% uptime for Tarsus PC with A-Open motherboards

Tarsus PC, the eponymous machine from Tarsus Technologies, has delivered an impressive track record since the company opted for A-Open motherboards some 2 months ago. According to Jason McMillan, product manager for Tarsus PC, since adopting the A-Open boards, not a single failure has been reported in the Intel Celeron and Pentium III-based machines. "What is impressive about this track record is that a failure rate of 15% is considered normal among some other South African white-box manufacturers," states McMillan.

According to him, the A-Open boards, manufactured in Taiwan, feature VIA or Intel chipsets and scalable bus speeds from 66Mhz for Intel Celeron processors, to 133Mhz for Pentium III processors.

"We opted for a change to the A-Open for reasons of quality. A-Open has invested vast amounts of money into R&D and through this investment produce motherboards that are of consistently high quality," says McMillan. He adds that the combination of the new motherboards with stringent assembly and quality control procedures has resulted in the improved stability of the Tarsus PC range.
