Tarsus to extend warranties with TallyGenicom Service Pack

Tarsus Technologies and Geneva Printotek have formed a strategic alliance, which will see additional value being added to the TallyGenicom printers sold by Tarsus`s local reseller channel and in turn, additional peace of mind afforded to the users of this brand of product.

While TallyGenicom is a brand that has become well-known as a reliable workhorse in the local market, the agreement sees resellers being given the ability to offer customers a TallyGenicom Service Pack with all new printers purchased. This includes extending the standard one-year warranty to a three-year, national next business day, on site warranty, regardless of whether the original warranty entailed on-site or carry-in service.

Says Nick Allen, Customer Services Manager at TallyGenicom UK: "We are delighted by the agreement between Tarsus and Geneva Printotek. The Service Packs show a strong commitment to after-sales service from Tarsus and TallyGenicom, in addition to a new level of service and support for our South African customers."

A Service Pack does not necessarily have to be purchased at the same time as the printer; however, it must be purchased within 90 days of the customer taking delivery of the printer.

"If a Service Pack is purchased at the same time as a TallyGenicom line printer, the customer benefits from free installation and configuration, a service that could cost a couple of thousand rand under normal circumstances," adds Ismail Kippie, product manager at Tarsus Technologies.

In terms of the agreement between the distributor, reseller and service partner, all warranties and repairs are handled by Geneva Printotek, a TallyGenicom UK-appointed authorised service partner whose service coverage spans the whole of SA.

"We are confident that it will be a success, as it is definitely a value-add product for TallyGenicom dealers and end-users a like," says David Goss, Business Development Manager at Geneva Printotek.

"We also believe this service will increase the popularity of TallyGenicom printers in the local market and enable the brand to maintain its dominant position in various market segments," Goss concludes.
