Pandey takes over from former SNO committee chairman Karl Socikwa, who will remain on the board. Socikwa would not comment on the appointment and directed enquiries to the SNO`s office.

The SNO shareholding is divided between strategic equity partner company SepCo with a 51% stake, black economic empowerment group Nexus Connexion with a 19% share and state-owned enterprises Transtel and Eskom enterprises with 15% each. Tata has a controlling stake in SepCo.
